I knew I would like this movie simply because I love Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley. And it's British. Have you seen An Education? I liked that movie too. I had read about Never Let Me Go first in an article in Vogue featuring Ms. Mulligan while flying from LA to Minneapolis. It was quite a while ago and I kept an eye out waiting for it to come to theaters when all of a sudden to my delight it was available for renting.
I really liked it, Never Let Me Go has such a simple, pretty sadness to it. The clothes are functional and beautiful, the setting is elegant and whole, the characters are so endearing in their naivete, it's like a period piece, which it is I suppose, but with a twist. It left me wanting, I want to wear clothes like that and live in a cottage and always have perpetually cozy weather...sigh.
Watch it, I think you will enjoy it.
Maybe not always have weather like that...
